Procedure
In this album, you will see the procedure from collecting the raw stones from the different quarries around Zimbabwe to the negotiating on each finished piece.
Once bought, the pieces we record title, artist name, size & stone type. All the details will be recorded on excel numerically.
Once the sculptures have reached our packing shed, we take special care to ensure the bases are level and to re-polish each piece before attaching a code number, which will correspond to the packing list.
The piece will then be wrapped in commercial plastic with tissue paper for extra protection.
A separate excel list will record the codes for sculptures that have been packed in numbered crates so the client can easily locate any sculpture.
A cardboard tag will be tied to each sculpture before being wrapped tightly with the same code attached to the outside of the wrapping as well as a thumbnail photo of the piece.
Strong crates are made which will hold the sculptures ready to be loaded into a container and exported worldwide.
